How to Tap

Below is a short video showing you how to Tap.

There are a few things we always do before we start, which help us focus in on the unpleasant emotion or experience we would like to release. It might sound strange to focus in on the negative, but it is a bit like cleaning your house. You can’t clean your house without first seeing the dirt.

Fortunately though, with Tapping, it is a very gentle way to process our emotions and experiences because if it gets overwhelming we can stop using any words at all and just continue to tap on the points.

Just by tapping we are sending a calming signal to the brain and before too long we feel calmer and usually able to continue Tapping on the issue we were working on.

Remember, don’t worry too much about getting the words right, the most important thing (backed by research) is that you are tapping on the right points. Just that action alone is calming for the body and brain.
